As time flies by
Like a bird in fleeting haste
To beat the sun as it sleeps
Giving us moments---sweet and otherwise
To turn into memories.
A fool, like I’ve always been
Tries to hold that memories
Into my clenched fist.
As if fighting my destiny
As if pleading…….
My life will ne’r be the same again
(alas!) Time changes everything.
But……
Since the day you coldly whispered
That you’ve changed
That the world which we both shared
no longer exists, memories be damned!!
Those smiles, those tears
Prayers and flowers
All faded and died---
Being swept aside by the ---WINDS OF CHANGE!
You change, I change
and everyone else will
but ---
should it be change for change’s sake?

Ne’r to be broken
even though we may change
even though we may perish
Is it that you’ve laboured hard to change
So as to be far away from me?
Selfish--- my love never was
