LOVE AIN’T A GAME

medium_wimbledon.jpg

Love ain’t an aberration
Nor it’s some poet’s intangible mind's eye.
Pain and joy, smiles and tears
--love has them all.
In love I met my match
For better or for worse.
Come death and I’ll drink to thee
As if a nectar or an elixir!
Coz life without you is like dying - - -
a thousand deaths all over again.
I won’t ask you to acquiesce
That you loved me too,
--- that in a corner of your heart
there will always be some place
which is forever mine.
Love ain’t a game
Where one has to be the loser
“heart wins heart”
“soul meets soul”
-------- yeah! That’s the rule of this game.
Love, its essence was lost
By an eclectic mix of emotions
As I searched for my joy and ecstasy
In your amorous company.
Whenever you remember me now
In a serene moment all by yourself
Forgive me my follies
And the bad jokes I played
Time will erase every memory
So you don’t have to worry about that!
Let me find my happiness in your joys
Even if that means going away
--- to a never, never land
even if I’ve to shed tears
into a perennial stream .
‘Love’ indeed cannot be forced
Nor can ‘unlove’ be ensured!
Let me find solace--- the path to moksha
When the pangs of separation
Become a trifle bit unbearable
Let me be reminded of You, Your eyes, and Your smile
And of the moments you gave me
--- my treasures, they are
--- to take to the grave!
When my Maker sounds the necropolis bell
Telling me that it’s time to mingle
---with the elements!!
I will only smile like
In a way like ne’r before
Coz if love was a game
… atleast I didn’t play it like a loser or a fool!!
